Cagen Turblaht (1966)

“Using all means necessary, including unorthodox spelling, as tools to undo words, to undo our world, is the point of my work”, explained Cagen Turblaht in the only published interview he is known to have given (in a small french magazine in 1976).
Turblaht was born in Africa, his father a Belgian diplomat. The identity of his mother is unknown, which caused a family scandal, and has been cited as a reason for his relocation in 1953 to the US. He made a living as a pianist in small clubs and bars on the west coast, until the early 70s. His source of income after that is unknown. He published 5 small collections of poems, although there is believed to be at least five times more material that has, as of yet, to be published.
