Deseo y tentación es lo que hace que la vida valga la pena. Lo cual no significa que no llevan a problemas, dolor, sufrimiento. Una cosa no tiene que ver con la otra. Pero se disfruta. El deseo se disfruta! Y cuando te tientan, pues, te abren algo adentro de ti. Te cortan, te abren. Y lo que intentabas esconder si revela, y es sangre, y es dolor. Y te arruinará tu calma - o la vida muerta que llevabas - y gritarás. Puede ser que lo que hace que la vida valga la pena, es lo que también crea el caos que puede hasta hacer caer todo lo que creías que eres. Tu no sabes. No sabes! Crees que sabes, como buen burgués, muerto. Pero no es así. Y de repente, cuando menos lo esperas, llega alguien y te despierta. Y te acuerdas de que eres un monstruo. Y te acuerdas de que no te controlas, no controlas nada. Solo finges. Finges y sonríes. Y es falso, eres falso. Pero cuando deseas, no eres tu, y así no eres falso. En el deseo no eres tu, y eres real.

Esto es como me siento ahorita. Esto es la realidad. Está más allá de la "comunicación" - no nada más (o principalmente) oral, pero la comunicación en todo el sentido como se entiende normalmente. No puedes decir nada que pueda abarcar la realidad. Terminas falsificando todo. Hace falta algo más complejo.

Trent: What’s to be scared about? It’s not like it’s real or anything.
Styles: Well, it’s not real from your point of view, and right now reality shares your point of view. What scares me about Cane’s work is what might happen if reality shared his point of view.
Trent: Whoa, whoa, whoa — we’re not talking about reality here. We’re talking about fiction. It’s different, you know.
Styles: Reality is just what we tell each other it is. Sane and insane could easily switch places if the insane were to become the majority. You would find yourself locked in a padded cell wondering what happened to the world.
Trent: Yeah, well, it wouldn’t happen to me.
Styles: Ah, it would if you realized everything you ever knew was gone. It would be pretty lonely being the last one left.
